I just used a rather sophisticated device (not generally available) and tested DirectX Video on a Windows ME machine. ![]() That's what made me think that the problem lies with DirectX. When I run "test Direct3D" in dxdiag with hardware acceleration set to full, it also crashes. Is it just that my laptop is not capable of running any 3d games although it meets their minimum requirements? Or maybe it's a problem with Dx drivers? Now I have DirectX 7 installed, and as for the graphic card drivers, they are from official Toshiba website. However if I change the hardware acceleration slider in display options to the "basic" setting I'm able to play AoE 2. Whenever I start any of them, the screen simply goes black. The thing is, none of them works, even AoE. I installed 3 games on this machine (it meets all their requirements): Age of Empires 2 (which would obviously run on anything, but still), Gothic 1 demo, and Dungeons and Dragons 1. ![]() I reinstalled win98se on this little laptop and now have a bit of a problem. It's a Satellite Pro 4600 with 128mb RAM, PIII 700 and a Trident CyberBlade XP (22) graphic card with 16mb memory.
